Back to CPH, Old Man Snores on Bus

Photos are up! Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen!

Århus was really great. On day two (where I left off on the last post, as day two was just beginning), Nix and made our way into town. I accompanied him to the local elementary school first though, because it was voting day. (We won't talk about the results...let's just say they are less than ideal.) We wandered down through the old town of Århus. Or, actually, we wandered around the old town. There's a massive entry fee that was definitely not worth it. But we took a walk through the park alongside and peeked in here and there. Pretty nice. I'm glad we didn't pay for it.

Our main stop for the day was ARoS, Århus' art museum. It's a fancy newish building with ten stories of exhibits. We spent a few hours wandering around. The highlight was Mariko Mori's Oneness exhibit, in which we entered a UFO with special sensors on our heads so that we could morph images with our brains. Yeah, whoa.

We had Greek chicken for dinner that was bomb dot com.

It was a really wonderful couple days. Right when I was sick of that darn hostel Nix took really great care of me and I had ultimate relaxation. I even took two showers! With hot water!

The trip back to Copenhagen was interesting. On the bus I had two seats, no nice Elizabeths this time. Nix gave me a copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and I really set into it on the trip home. The ferry was very surreal. The wind was high, the water was choppy, the boat was swaaaaaying hugely. People were doing wonderful zigzags from wall to wall if they attempted to walk anywhere. So here I was reading about these two guys in Las Vegas doing incredible amounts of all sorts of substances and losing nearly all motor functions. Then, I had to use the bathroom. All of a sudden I was zig zagging everywhere on this crazy boat that wouldn't sit still, and since everyone was sitting down (and NOT making a fool of themselves) all of a sudden I felt very very suspicious, as if I were Dr Duke wandering into a circus bar/casino where EVERYONE was WATCHING me. Then I got to the bathroom and remembered that, no, I hadn't done any drugs, it was just the boat, people understand. When I left, I claimed a new seat with a premium view of people nearly falling over as they attempted to walk.

Then, back on the bus, there was a Really Cool Old Guy who stretched out behind me in the very last row. He fell asleep. He began snoring. He really did not hold back.

But now I'm back in CPH. I'm staying with another couchsurfing folk, her name is Lisa. I arrived last night and we chatted and ate dinner (leftovers that her last couchsurfers left), then kicked back and watched a Danish movie. Yup. I'll stay here for one more night, then head to another couchsurfing house and stay with a guy named Marcus.

Also, I just did laundry. Which means no more wearing dirty clothes for me! For the next few days.

Love, love, love the photos.

Now, who is Fred, what's the deal with Scottie dogs, and where can I get a set of sensors for MY head?
